MDX Medical Hires VP Technology and NIRS Development Team
Vancouver, BC - (September 19, 2005) MDX Medical Inc. (TSX.V: MDX) announced today that it has completed the hiring of the core team required to develop its NIRS (Near Infra Red Spectrophotometry) technology. The team working with UBC researchers will focus immediately on the advancement of the pre-commercial NIRS device. The NIRS technology is a breakthrough in bladder care providing non-invasive monitoring in the diagnosis of urinary incontinence and bladder dysfunction.

The team of engineers will be led by Dr. Luya Li, Vice President Technology, who has a PhD in Electrical Engineering and over 20 years experience in developing leading edge technologies. Dr. Li was most recently a senior technical manager at VSM MedTech Ltd. where he led the development of a medical device incorporating near-infrared optical sensing technology through its early stages, clinical studies and collaboration with development partners. He has also held a variety of senior technical positions in research institutions and industrial high tech companies. Dr. Li has been issued three US patents and another three patent applications are pending in the medical device field.
